Thailand was on my bucket list for so many years and I finally got to cross it off. I’m so glad I get to share my images with you all. Here’s a bit from my journal.

If you know me at all – you know how terrible I am at planning and being semi responsible during my travels. I mean I did end up on a wrong plane going to a different country once but that’s old news and it didn’t happen this time…thankfully. The start of our trip was a little rough. My brother got chased by a stray dog. Our first hostel’s electricity only worked when it wanted to (I was also in charge of booking hostels, who reads reviews anyway?). I got carsick in our first taxi ride and puked in a bag that had holes in it. Then I left my phone in that same taxi and chased it around Phuket for 6 hours (while wearing my breakfast). Then we missed our ferry to the Phi Phi Islands and at this point my brother had decided to never travel with me ever again.

As the week went on it got better – we went snorkeling, sat with monkeys on a beach, did a morning hike to watch the sunrise over phi phi island, explored Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, took a cooking class, saw so many temples, gave elephants a mud bath, went to a traditional Thai boxing match, napped under the scorching sun, went to Laos and Myanmar, ate 50 cents meals, explored Siem Reap, watched the sun rise over Angkor Wat, rode bicycles to a local village, ate crickets and snake, and got a crap ton of Thai massages. ⁣

We both smelled like toilet bowls by the end but this trip was beyond amazing and I can’t wait to go back!

And this is how I remember South East Asia.
